I've been enjoying this pattern immensely but have had dozens of projects in the works so haven't had much time to devote to it. I dislike solids, as anyone who knows me will attest to, so I chose to make mine out of Araucania's Nature Wool which is a hand dyed semi-solid (duh! as you can see!). The orange is really deeper and richer than my camera portrays and I'm loving it. I have 4 people making this pattern at the shop and all of them are doing well, although I agree that there will be some puffiness in the reverse stockinette bands but I suspect that will reduce with wear. We have also implemented a number of variations as all of you have already discovered and it is fun to see how these variations are developing. I hope to get a lot more done this coming week and will post my progress. I am loving all the enthusiasm that everyone is posting on this KAL. Keep 'em coming!

Pretty! Yours is the first I've seen that's not completely solid. I really like it.
Let us know if the puffy/puckering/bulge of the reverse st st bands reduces with wear and/or blocking.
I switched needle size for my rev st st bands. I used US9 for the lace...and US7 for the rev st st...and that eliminated almost all of the puff/pucker/bulge. Then, blocking smoothed out the rest. FYI: I used the US7 beginnning with the 12th row of the lace band (a pattern row 7) for a smoother transition.
Thanx for the support on the color. I just get too bored with solids so this seemed a good compromise. If I had known about the needle changes when I started, I might have tried it. But I have done other of Veronik's patterns from IK and have had no problems, so I'm confident this will work out. I think part of the "style" is a slight bulge caused by the rev st st anyway, so I'm cool with the way it is working. Luv, luv, luv everyone else's also. Don't think I've seen one yet that didn't look very well done.
Ooh this is a great color! I rarely stray from the solids, but this looks really textured and lucious. Keep up the good work!
I love the colors in that! They're lovely. I really didn't think to do it in a non-solid, but yours is splendid.
